Industry Update: End-of-Life Notice for Key Samsung Lines Signals Urgency in Procurement Planning

Samsung has officially informed its supply chain partners that several mainstream memory products are approaching end-of-life status. Specifically, 8GB LPDDR4 components built on 1y nm and 1z nm (second and third generation) process nodes will be discontinued by April 2025, with Last Buy Orders (LBOs) due by June.

In parallel, multiple 8GB and 16GB DDR4 SODIMM and UDIMM modules are also slated for phase-out, with final shipments scheduled for December 10, 2025. These modules are widely used in embedded systems, laptops, and industrial applications, and their discontinuation is expected to create ripples across multiple sectors relying on legacy memory solutions.

At Spectrum Sourcing, we’re helping clients navigate this transition by providing replacement options early and securing remaining supply before lead times tighten. If your operations or end products still rely on these EOL modules, it’s critical to act now to avoid future allocation risks and redesign pressures.

Contact our team today to review your current memory usage and lock in last-time buys while availability lasts.
